    yeah Branden my dealings with Vevor i can't complain one bit hell of a good price ($20.00 for a pair of wolf jaw smithing tongs!!) good quality and damn fast delivery!! and you can call it a lightning torch seeing how lightning is a form of plasma!!

    The consumables usually are a simillar type to the mass market especially in chinese knock offs. They copy everything. No originality over there.

    Some people used compressed gas to cut so thats what that extra nipple and hose was for. They dont reccomend air unless it goes through a VERY GOOD dryer setup to not spit water on molten steel etc.

    Very cool for sure! What size compressor does it require? I would be interested in seeing how well it works on 110v since I don’t have 220v. I probably would be cutting .25 mostly.

    One thing is important when it comes to plasma cutters-clean air.Oil and water clear air.There are several options: The filters that come from harbor freight and on machines from china is usually 40 micron-its fine for dust but its not efficient for water and oil separation. Filters that are 5 microns will remove 90% of water and oil but they are expensive,around 300$. Air dryers can be bought but those go for around 800-1000$+you need filter to remove oil. You can buy silica gel filters or make them from water filters for pool.They do work but they need to be changed regularly ,you can dry silica gel in oven or buy new one from pet stores. Drying saves some money but its time consuming. DIY option for around 100$ (depends on the materials that you have) is to buy or make a 5 foot long 1/2" copper coil and submmerge it in bucket of ice and water,use compressed fittings or flared fittings and connect one end to compressor.Other end you connect to a water trap that can be made out of 2" pipe(can be less but you need longer pipe then) around 30 com long .You will need one end cap that you drill a 22mmm hole in and weld a 1/2" pipe so that its one end goes half the length of 2" pipe when you screw end cap. On other end you use reduction nipple so that you can screw in standard 1/2" ball valve -it will serve as water release valve. Now near the top you can weld a 1/2" pipe to a 2 " pipe and drill a hole in wall of 2" pipe after with 1/2" inch drill bit-use small pipe as a guide . How it works ? Hot air from compressor goes trough copper coil that is submerged in a bucket of water with ice(you can use aquarium pump to improve cooling capacity of water).As it goes trough it gets cold and moisture condenses in a water trap.Since water is heavy it cant go up so oil and water stay at bottom of trap while air goes trough small 1/2" pipe on the side. Release ball valve to purge the system from time to time. If you combine this system with Motoguard M-30 (around 100$)that uses toilet paper as filter and ice and water as consumable -very cheap to replace and you get clean air ,so clean that you can spray cars with it.

    Been kicking around buying a cheap plasma like this one. The consumables for my current plasma cutter cost about $12-$14 per change out. Definitely keep my cutmaster 52 just something cheap for the blacksmith shop

    Forged in fire is probably the worst thing that has ever happened to blacksmithing. Ever since that stupid show got popular the price of blacksmithing tools is through the roof. Unless you happen to get lucky blacksmithing is now only available to those who can afford it

    Is this process reversible? Like if I heat a piece of steel and then quench it, it hardens the steel? And then if I reheat and let it sit out and it is normalized, the hardness of the steel would be reverted?

When they complain about spelling in this day and age of spell check and hurried typing, they don't have anything else. Lol they don't have the brain power for an argument so the go for the gram lol. Seriously I love your show. So always always always argue the points of the argument and not the grammar. Best of luck and ignore the haters. It's better to use what you got and forge then to do nothing because all you can get is a harbor freight anvil.

  • @ClimptonDiddlehopper
    @ClimptonDiddlehopper 4 дня назад

    This looks bent for a reason. As a mechanic i keep cheap wrenches and sockets to make special tools from them. I dont wanna have to use a Snap On or Mac tool to destroy to use for an odd issue like fuel pump bolts on old Cummins semi engines or certain bellhousing bolts etc. Youve ran into issues and a regular wrench or socket is just no quite there. Now sometimes the trucks make a tool for a situation but the cost is 5 times the cost a standard wrench cost just for a couple added bends or angles. So, you grab one of the cheap ones and the blue wrench and a couple bends or twists, maybe a cut n weld and poof...specialty wrench. You dropped a buck n a half instead of 125.99 on the truck for a tool you grab up every 5 years or so. So never scrap them.
